Chief Minister to Hand Over Compassionate Appointment Orders

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will hand over compassionate appointment orders to the families of deceased employees of urban local bodies at a program organized by the Urban Administration and Development Department at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Auditorium in Raipur on January 20.
Considering the pending cases of compassionate appointments in various urban local bodies, the department has approved 353 new posts to provide financial support to the families of former employees.
Under the chief guestship of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Shri Arun Sao, a program will be held from 10 am in which groundbreaking will be performed for water supply schemes worth a total of Rs 270 crore in six urban local bodies.
In the program, the inauguration of 70 works worth Rs 15.25 crore and the groundbreaking of 813 works worth Rs 155.38 crore in various urban local bodies will also be done. Sanitation didis working under the Mission Clean City will also be honored at the program. Forest Minister and In-charge Minister of Raipur district Shri Kedar Kashyap, MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, MLAs Shri Rajesh Moonat, Sunil Soni, Motilal Sahu, Purandar Mishra, Guru Khushwant Saheb, Anuj Sharma, and Indrakumar Sahu will also be present as special guests at the program.
Officials of the Urban Administration and Development Department informed that the department has approved 353 new posts for compassionate appointments in municipalities, Nagar Palikas, and Nagar Panchayats. To expedite the disposal of long-pending cases of compassionate appointments, the state government has issued orders for the creation of new posts on the initiative of Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Shri Arun Sao.
Of these, 102 posts are for urban local bodies in the Raipur division, 144 for the Durg division, 78 for the Bilaspur division, 16 for the Surguja division, and 13 for the Bastar division.
At the program held at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Auditorium, groundbreaking will be performed for water supply schemes worth a total of Rs 270.37 crore in six urban local bodies of the state – Takhatpur and Ratanpur Nagar Palika and Bhanupratapur, Chhuriya, Malhar, and Khongapani Nagar Panchayats under the central government’s Mission Amrit 2.0. Through these schemes, a total of 20,511 private tap connections will be provided. Under the scheme, a total of more than 276 km of pipelines will be expanded. A total of 13 new high-level overhead tanks (water tanks) with a total capacity of 10,225 kiloliters will also be constructed for all six cities. New water treatment plants with a total capacity of 20.5 MLD will also be built for the supply of clean drinking water.
The Urban Administration Department is working to provide clean drinking water to a population of about four lakh under Mission Amrit 2.0 in 23 urban local bodies of the state. Under this, water supply projects worth Rs 1154 crore are being planned in Mana Camp, Kumhari, Mandir Hasaud, Sukma, and Kondagaon Nagar Palika and Samoda, Chandkhuri, Kunra, Nagri, Amdi, Fingeshwar, Gundardehi, Arjunada, Bodri, Rahod, Kharod, Shivrinarayan, Saria, Premnagar, Bhatgaon, Jhagarkhand, Kunkuri, and Narharpur Nagar Panchayat.
At the program held under the chief guestship of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, sanitation didis working under the Swachh Bharat Mission in urban local bodies will be honored. Also, 14 urban local bodies – Ambikapur, Chura, Chhuriya, Dongargarh, Korba, Mahasamund, Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Bilaspur, Mandir Hasaud, and Chandkhuri – will be awarded for their outstanding work in the Clean Toilet Campaign under the Mission Clean City. 9232 sanitation didis are working in urban local bodies across the state under the Swachh Bharat Mission. They are engaged in door-to-door garbage collection and their segregation daily.
