Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government has taken a significant step toward transparency, efficiency, and digital empowerment in government operations. In a pioneering move initiated by the Chief Minister, the State Finance Department and Directorate of Pensions have enabled the availability of Electronic Pension Payment Orders (ePPOs) and other important documents through the DigiLocker platform. This initiative is being seen as a milestone achievement in the state’s commitment to digitization.
Approximately 3.61 lakh government employees and 1.5 lakh pensioners in Chhattisgarh can now access key documents such as their GPF statements, final payment orders, pension certificates, and pension payment orders securely and authentically anytime, from anywhere, via DigiLocker. This move eliminates the need for physical copies of documents and spares individuals from repeated visits to government offices—saving both time and resources.
Chief Minister Shri Sai commended the technical expertise of the Directorate of Pensions, their efforts in document digitization, and the coordination with the DigiLocker platform for the successful implementation of this innovative initiative. He emphasized that this step not only enhances administrative efficiency but also builds trust and satisfaction among citizens.
The initiative aligns with the spirit of the Government of India’s Digital India Mission, and sets a noteworthy example from Chhattisgarh. With this step, pensioners, employees, and the administration all stand to benefit directly from improved access, reduced bureaucracy, and a smoother experience.
