Chief Minister Sai’s initiative to etch Jashpur’s image on the national tourism map

Raipur, March 25

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today launched a historic initiative giving a new identity to Jashpur district. He inaugurated the Adventure Zone at Mayali Nature Camp in Kunkuri and dedicated three major tourism circuits for the district—Spiritual and Heritage, Nature and Wild Life, and Adventure. This step will not only establish Jashpur as a major tourist destination within Chhattisgarh but will also open doors to new opportunities for the local youth.
Chief Minister Shri Sai himself rode a pontoon boat and observed the panoramic view of Madheshwar Mahadev, stating that the Mayali Adventure Zone will now become a hub of thrill and employment. Adventure activities like aqua cycling, kayaking, speed boat, floating jetty, and bumper boat have been launched here.
A glimpse of the three new tourism circuits
The three major tourism circuits inaugurated by Chief Minister Shri Sai showcase the diversity and uniqueness of Jashpur. The Spiritual and Heritage circuit starts from Kotebira and passes through places like Tamta, Kailash Gufa, Madheshwar Pahar, Sharda Dham, and Gwalin Sarna—this circuit offers a precious glimpse of faith, heritage, and tribal traditions.
The Nature and Wild Life circuit will attract tourists seeking peace in the lap of nature. It includes Makarbhanja Waterfall, Badalkhol Sanctuary, Ranidah and Gullu Waterfalls, and the Sarudih Tea Garden—rich in natural heritage, this circuit will be no less than a paradise for nature lovers.
The Adventure tourism circuit will attract adventure enthusiasts. It includes places like Dangri Campsite, Belwar Waterfall, Deshdekha Hill Camp, Sarna Eco Ethnic Resort, and climbing sectors, which will become ideal locations for activities like trekking, climbing, and nature camping.
Mountaineering expedition for tribal youth: Jashpur’s confidence will return from the heights of Himachal
On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Sai, tribal youth from Jashpur will now receive training in mountaineering, rope climbing, etc., in the Miyad Valley of Himachal Pradesh. The trained youth will return and train local youth, which will strengthen both tourism and youth power.
The children going on the expedition met Chief Minister Shri Sai and said that they are happy to have received this unique opportunity. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the government is encouraging youth for various adventure sports. Recently, a mountaineer daughter of Chhattisgarh expressed her desire to hoist the tricolor on the highest peak of Africa, for which immediate financial assistance was provided. She conquered Kilimanjaro. Similarly, you also have to work hard and bring glory to the state. On this, youth Tejal Bhagat said, “Now it’s our turn, we will also make the state proud.”
Women from self-help groups said—Tourism has changed lives
Women from Lakshmi and Tulsi self-help groups working at Mayali Nature Camp met the Chief Minister and expressed their gratitude. They said that due to tourism, they are now getting regular income, and their children are also getting employment opportunities. The women thanked the Chief Minister by presenting a wooden artwork of Madheshwar Mahadev.
This initiative of Chief Minister Shri Sai is making tourism not just a tour, but a means of socio-economic empowerment. This is a historic beginning to take the natural beauty, spiritual heritage, and tribal self-reliance of Jashpur to the national level.
