Chief Minister Sai Launches ‘MNREGA Darpan’

Raipur, 23 September

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today formally launched the MNREGA Darpan Citizen Information Portal during the state-level Mahatari Sadan inauguration program held at village Kareli Badi in Dhamtari district. On this occasion, he stated that MNREGA Darpan will make complete information on MNREGA activities easily accessible to the public. He described this initiative as a significant step toward transparency and accountability.

The Chief Minister further noted that MNREGA Darpan is an innovative initiative of the Chhattisgarh government, which sets a new benchmark for transparency and serves as a direct link between rural citizens and government schemes. Based on QR code and GIS technology, this tool will be a milestone in digital empowerment and good governance in villages.

Villagers Can Now Access MNREGA Work Reports from the Last Three Years

To ensure greater transparency in MNREGA implementation, the Chhattisgarh government has taken a major step toward digital transformation. Citizen information boards have now been installed across all Gram Panchayats in the state. By scanning the QR codes displayed on these boards, any villager can view details of the works carried out in the last three years, including expenditure data and progress reports.

With this system, every individual in the village can now know what MNREGA works have been sanctioned in their area, how much money has been spent, and the current status of each project. Moving away from file-based and paper documentation, all information will now be accessible via mobile phones, making villagers less dependent on offices or officials for updates.

Through the MNREGA Darpan portal and information boards, all records will be digitally stored and regularly updated at the Gram Panchayat level. This will eliminate any confusion around schemes and allow the public to monitor them directly. The initiative is expected to boost trust among villagers. With this transparent system, not only will corruption be curbed, but active public participation will also be ensured.

The launch event was attended by Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Revenue Minister Shri Tankram Verma, MP Smt. Rup Kumari Chaudhary, MLA Shri Ajay Chandrakar, Secretary Smt. Niharika Barik, along with a large number of villagers and district-level officials.
