Chief Minister Sai Inaugurates 226 Houses Under Atal Housing Scheme

Raipur, May 20
As part of the Su-Shasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival), Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today formally inaugurated 226 newly constructed houses under the Atal Awas Yojana in the village of Murmunda and handed over the keys to the beneficiaries, marking the fulfillment of their dream homes. On the occasion, he symbolically facilitated the housewarming ceremony for Mr. Tushar Sahu, owner of house number 226, stating, “Today, we are not just giving you a house, but the home of your dreams. This moment is not only significant in your life but also stands as a milestone in the government’s welfare efforts.”
Congratulating all the beneficiaries, the Chief Minister said that the Chhattisgarh government prioritizes ensuring every citizen has access to safe and dignified housing. He emphasized that schemes like Atal Awas Yojana not only provide shelter but also play a vital role in the social and economic empowerment of the people. The event was also graced by Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Vijay Sharma.
A Dream Realized After Years
Tushar Sahu, the beneficiary of house number 226, expressed his overwhelming gratitude, saying that he had always dreamt of living in a beautiful, clean, and peaceful environment — a dream that has come true today. Being welcomed into his new home by the Chief Minister was, he said, a moment of pride and emotion. He noted that the 2BHK house is fully equipped with all essential amenities and is quite affordable compared to market rates. Mr. Sahu attended the ceremony with his parents and family members. The Chief Minister also visited his house and praised the quality of construction.
Keys Handed Over to Several Beneficiaries
During the event, the Chief Minister also handed over house keys to Mr. Rupnarayan Devangan, Mr. Arun Sahu, and Mr. Chandrashekhar Rathore. Mr. Arun Sahu, owner of house number 215 and an employee of Bhilai Steel Plant, shared that moving into his dream home before retirement was one of the happiest moments of his life. “Through the Atal Awas Yojana, the state government has given us an opportunity we had waited years for,” he said.
A Gift of a Bright Residential Future
Under the Atal Awas Yojana, implemented by the Chhattisgarh Housing Board, a total of 226 independent houses and 12 shops have been built on approximately 10 acres of land in village Murmunda, at a cost of ₹24 crore 57 lakh 98 thousand. Of the total homes, 55 are under the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category, 69 are LIG-A type, 86 are LIG-B type, and 16 are MIG (Middle Income Group) type. All houses have been sold, and registration has already been completed for 7 of them.
