Chief Minister Presents Winners’ Cup to the Champion Teams of Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the closing ceremony of the Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League (CCPL) Season 2 held at the Shaheed Veernarayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Naya Raipur. The Chief Minister presented the Winners’ Cup to the champion teams of the league. Due to rain, the final match of the CCPL could not be played. Both finalist teams — Raipur Rhinos and Rajnandgaon Panthers — were declared joint winners.
Addressing the closing ceremony of CCPL Season 2, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that it is a matter of pride for Chhattisgarh to host such a grand cricket tournament. The state government is continuously striving to promote all sports in Chhattisgarh. The Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League has provided an excellent opportunity for the state’s talented cricket players to showcase their skills. He congratulated the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association for organizing this event successfully.
The Chief Minister further said that due to rain, the final match could not take place. Hence, Raipur Rhinos and Rajnandgaon Panthers have been declared joint winners. He extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to both teams and wished all the players a bright future. It is heartening that despite the bad weather, a large number of cricket lovers were present at the stadium. He expressed hope that the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association will continue to organize the Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League in the future as well.
Notably, the Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League Season 2 was held from 6 June to 15 June. The participating teams were Raipur Rhinos, Rajnandgaon Panthers, Raigarh Lions, Bastar Bisons, Bilaspur Bulls, and Sarguja Tigers. The Winners’ Cup was received by the captains of Raipur Rhinos and Rajnandgaon Panthers, Mr. Amandeep Khare and Mr. Ajay Mandal, respectively, from the hands of the Chief Minister.
On this occasion, Sports Minister Mr. Tankram Verma, Rajya Sabha MP and BCCI Vice President Mr. Rajeev Shukla, MLA Guru Khushwant Saheb, Mr. Baldev Singh Bhatia, Mr. Prabhatej Singh Bhatia, officials of the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association, and a large number of cricket enthusiasts were present.
