Chief Minister Participates in Prana Pratishtha Ceremony at Lord Jagannath Temple in Village Dokra

Raipur, May 22, 2025 / Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and his wife Mrs. Kaushalya Sai participated in the Prana Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony following the renovation of the ancient Shri Jagannath Temple in the village of Dokra, Kansabel development block, on Wednesday. The Chief Minister worshipped Lord Jagannath and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the state. On this occasion, he also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Mahtari Sadan in Dokra, which will be built at a cost of ₹24.74 lakh. The Chief Minister thanked the members of the Shri Jagannath Temple Committee in Dokra and appreciated their efforts.

It is noteworthy that the Rath Yatra (chariot procession) of Lord Jagannath has been held in Dokra since 1942. The Rath Yatra was started by the late Pandit Sudarshan Satpathi and his wife Sushila Satpathi from the village of Dokra. The temple was originally constructed in 1968. Due to the temple’s dilapidated condition, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and his wife Mrs. Kaushalya Sai had resolved to renovate it. They also expressed gratitude to the villagers for their support in this work.
