Chief Minister Inaugurates ‘Sushasan Vatika’ at IIM Raipur Campus

On the evening of the first day of the Chintan Shivir 2.0 held at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the ‘Sushasan Vatika’ (Good Governance Garden) on the institute’s campus. Along with members of his cabinet, the Chief Minister planted a Maulshree tree sapling in the garden to mark the occasion.

Accompanying the Chief Minister in the plantation were Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Arun Sao and Shri Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary, Industry Minister Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan, Agriculture Minister Shri Ram Vichar Netam, Food Minister Shri Dayal Das Baghel, Health Minister Shri Shyambihari Jaiswal, Revenue Minister Shri Tankram Verma, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade, Chief Minister’s Secretary Shri Rahul Bhagat, and Director of IIM Raipur Prof. Ram Kumar Kankani — all of whom also planted Maulshree saplings.

Features of the Maulshree Tree
The Maulshree is a fragrant flowering tree native to the Indian subcontinent, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. It is an evergreen tree that typically grows 10 to 15 meters tall.

Its small, white or pale yellow flowers are highly fragrant, with the scent becoming even more intense during the night.

The tree is known for its medicinal properties and is traditionally used in treating various ailments.

Maulshree is often planted around temples and in household courtyards, reflecting its cultural and spiritual significance.
