Chief Minister inaugurates and lays the foundation stone for development works worth ₹185 crore in Surajpur

Surajpur, March 21

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited Gram Panchayat Kudargarh under the Odgi development block of Surajpur district today, on the auspicious occasion of the third day (Tritiya) of Chaitra Navratri. Addressing the gathering, CM Shri Sai announced that Kudargarh Dham, a major center of faith, will undergo grand development. He noted that with the blessings of the Mother Goddess, Chhattisgarh is continuously moving forward on the path of progress. During the program, the Chief Minister inaugurated and performed the Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for development projects worth ₹185 crore in Surajpur district.
The Chief Minister performed rituals and prayers at the holy shrine of Maa Kudargarhi with full traditional rites, praying for the peace, prosperity, and happiness of the people of the state. “It is the holy festival of Chaitra Navratri, and I have come to the court of Maa Kudargarhi. The people of Surajpur have given me this privilege, for which I express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you,” he said.
Gift of Development Projects
The Chief Minister highlighted that on this auspicious day, 76 development works worth ₹185 crore have been initiated for Surajpur district. This includes:
* Inauguration: 52 projects worth ₹20 crore.
* Foundation Stone Laying: Projects worth ₹164 crore.
* Scope of Work: These projects include roads, buildings, drinking water facilities, education infrastructure, reservoirs, and urban development.
* New Rest House: A modern, fully-equipped rest house built at a cost of approximately ₹3.09 crore was inaugurated to ensure better facilities for visiting guests and devotees.
Enhancing Facilities for Devotees
CM Shri Sai stated that with the Goddess’s blessings, the government is working tirelessly to eliminate Naxalism from the Bastar region. To make pilgrimage easier at Kudargarh Dham, he announced:
* Ropeway Project: A ropeway will soon be constructed to make the Darshan more accessible.
* Infrastructure: Domes, electricity, and other essential amenities will be developed to ensure the holistic and systematic growth of the shrine.
Social Awareness Initiatives
During the event, the Chief Minister flagged off three specialized awareness chariots:
* Suposhan Rath (Nutrition Chariot): To raise awareness about better nutrition for women and children.
* Crime Awareness Chariot: To educate the public on safety and legal rights.
* Traffic Awareness Chariot: To promote road safety rules and save lives by preventing accidents.
He praised the “Ready-to-Eat” production initiative in Surajpur as a significant step toward improving the nutritional status of women and children in the district.
Voices of the Cabinet
* Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam extended Navratri greetings and emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening the rural economy and farmers’ income. He also noted that the Surguja Olympics have provided a new platform for local athletes.
* Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade reaffirmed the government’s efforts to empower women and children by strengthening Anganwadi services and ensuring better nutrition under CM Shri Sai’s leadership.
The event was attended by Forest Development Corporation Chairman Shri Ram Sevak Paikra, various public representatives, senior district officials, prominent citizens, and a large number of devotees.
