Chief Minister Congratulates Sanju Devi, Star of the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup

In a warm and inspiring interaction that underscored Chhattisgarh’s rising stature in global sports, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday met Sanju Devi, the distinguished kabaddi player from Chhattisgarh who emerged as one of the standout performers at the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup. The meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s residence office in Raipur, where Shri Sai extended heartfelt congratulations to her for bringing honour to both the State and the nation through her exceptional performance.

Chief Minister Shri Sai praised Sanju Devi for her remarkable achievement and said, “You have set a new benchmark for women empowerment. Your journey and your victory will inspire thousands of young girls across Chhattisgarh to enter the world of sports with renewed enthusiasm. This accomplishment will undoubtedly serve as a guiding light for future generations of sporting talent.” During the interaction, Sanju Devi shared with the Chief Minister the story of her life, her struggles, and her experiences on the global kabaddi stage.

Sanju Devi, who hails from Kerakachhar village in Korba district, was honoured with the Most Valuable Player title at the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup. The prestigious tournament was held in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, from November 17 to 24.

Present during the meeting were the Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Youth Commission, Shri Vishwa Vijay Singh Tomar; President of the Chhattisgarh Kabaddi Association, Shri Shashikant Baghel, Treasurer Shri Seva Ram Sahu, former coach Shri Anuj Pratap Singh, current coach Shri Dil Kumar Rathore, and other officials.
