Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has announced an increase in the subsidy for cowsheds from Rs. 25 to Rs. 35 per cattle. He stated that there is a need to conduct awareness campaigns in Chhattisgarh for the protection and promotion of cows.

The Chief Minister was addressing the charge-taking ceremony of the newly appointed president of the Chhattisgarh State Cow Service Commission, Shri Vishweshwar Singh Patel, at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Auditorium in the capital Raipur.

Chief Minister Sai congratulated and wished the newly appointed president of the Chhattisgarh State Cow Service Commission, Shri Vishweshwar Patel, on getting the new responsibility.

The Chief Minister also inspected the stalls of cow products set up on this occasion. Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Arun Sao and Shri Vijay Sharma were also present at the ceremony.

Chief Minister Sai said that the cow is a symbol of our prosperity. It is believed that 33 crore deities reside in the cow. The Chief Minister said that it would be appropriate to call the cow sanctuary a “Gau-dham”. The state government has decided to build Gau-dhams at various places. A 50-acre Gau-dham is ready in Jhalam, Bemetara district, and its inauguration will be done soon. Similarly, work is underway on a 120-acre Gau-dham in Kawardha district.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is working to promote milk production in the state and strengthen the Chhattisgarh Devbhog brand. The state government’s endeavor will be to ensure the safety of cows. Strict action is being taken to ban cow smuggling and cow slaughter.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that cows are an integral part of our agricultural economy. It is necessary for their protection and promotion that we make space for cows in our homes and rear cows.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that there is good governance in the state. Strict action is being taken against those involved in the PSC scam and corruption. The state government will make animal husbandry a means of economic progress for society and families on the lines of Amul in Gujarat.

The newly appointed president of the Chhattisgarh State Cow Service Commission, Shri Vishweshwar Singh Patel, elaborated on the work and future plans of the commission. Former minister Shri Nanak Ram Kanwar, Sant Shri Ram Balak Das, Sant Shri Rajiv Lochan Ji Maharaj, Acharya Rakesh, Didi Pragya Bharati, Sadhvi Girijesh Nandini, Shri Pawan Sai, Shri Rampratap Singh, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Backward Classes Commission Shri Nehru Nishad, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Waqf Board Shri Salim Raj, and Registrar of the State Cow Service Commission Dr. Samir Sharma were also present on the occasion.
