Chief Minister and Assembly Speaker Unveil the Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Trophy 2025

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh unveiled the prestigious FIH Junior Men’s Hockey World Cup 2025 trophy at the Assembly premises on November 18. Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao and State Cabinet Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap were also present. Notably, the glittering trophy of the world-renowned FIH Junior Men’s Hockey World Cup 2025 arrived in Chhattisgarh on November 18 for the first time as part of its India Tour. It was unveiled at a dignified ceremony held in the Legislative Assembly complex.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that hosting the FIH Junior World Cup 2025 in India is a matter of immense pride, and the arrival of the trophy in Chhattisgarh is a moment of special honour for the state. Expressing gratitude to Hockey India, he stated that the trophy tour is a vital initiative to promote enthusiasm and inspire sports across the country.

He further stated that the campaign launched by Union Sports Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya will infuse new energy into sportsmanship nationwide. The Chief Minister added that Chhattisgarh has always been a fertile ground for hockey. A large number of children from districts such as Rajnandgaon, Bastar, Jashpur, Surguja, Raipur, Bilaspur, and Korba are shaping their futures in this sport. The presence of the trophy will serve as a motivating factor for young athletes in the state. He emphasised that the state government is committed to expanding sports infrastructure, strengthening training facilities and encouraging emerging talent. Shri Sai said the trophy symbolises the hard work, discipline and dreams of the world’s finest players. He also extended congratulations and best wishes to Hockey India, the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association and Chhattisgarh Hockey.

Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh congratulated the office-bearers and players of the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association and Chhattisgarh Hockey for the grand unveiling of the trophy. The programme was attended by Chhattisgarh Olympic Association General Secretary Shri Vikram Sisodia, other office-bearers, representatives of hockey organisations, and a large number of players.

*India to Host the Junior World Cup for the First Time*

It is noteworthy that India will host the FIH Hockey Junior Men’s World Cup 2025 for the first time. The tournament will be held from November 28 to December 10 in Chennai and Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
