Chhattisgarh’s Land is Rich in Religious, Spiritual, and Mythological Heritage –Sao

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao inaugurated the Shivrinayan Festival today in the city of Mata Shabari, Shivrinayan. The festival is being held from 23rd to 26th February at Mahant Lal Das College Ground in Janjgir-Champa district. This four-day event will feature various cultural programs daily. Member of Parliament Smt. Kamlesh Jangde and MLA Smt. Sheshraj Harbans were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
Deputy CM Shri Sao also unveiled the statue of Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the newly constructed Atal Complex in the Shivrinayan Nagar Panchayat bus stand and officially inaugurated the complex.
As the chief guest, Shri Arun Sao emphasized the cultural significance of the Shivrinayan Mela, held at the Triveni Sangam (confluence of three rivers), stating that it symbolizes our rich heritage and traditions. He highlighted that Shivrinayan has been renowned since ancient times, and the fair held here is famous not only in Chhattisgarh but also in other states. Shivrinayan is a center of faith and devotion, a sacred pilgrimage site.
Shri Sao further said that Chhattisgarh has a glorious cultural and civilizational history, with its land being deeply enriched with religious, spiritual, and mythological significance. Within this, Shivrinayan holds a prominent place as a well-known pilgrimage site of Chhattisgarh. The Magh Purnima Fair held here is famous for its unique traditions.
The event saw a large gathering of dignitaries, including former Deputy Speaker of Chhattisgarh Assembly Shri Narayan Chandel, former MLAs Shri Ambesh Jangde and Shri Chunnilal Sahu, Collector Shri Aakash Chikara, Superintendent of Police Shri Vivek Shukla, and several other public representatives and distinguished citizens.
