Chhattisgarh’s ‘Khanij’ online portal of Mineral Resources Department conferred with Excellence award

Chhattisgarh’s Khanij online portal run by Department of Mineral Resources has been conferred with Excellence Award by Indian Express Group in Lucknow Uttar Pradesh on Friday.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai extends wishes to all workers and officials of Department of Mineral Resources for the recognition.
The web-based portal Khanij Online has been appreciated for its unique features and effective management of mines and minerals related operations in the state. Hence, the portal has been awarded the Technology Sabha Excellence Award under the Enterprise Applications category by the Indian Express Group.
This award was received by Department of Mineral Resource’s Joint Director and Khanij online portal’s Nodal Officer Shri Anurag Diwan on behalf of the Mineral Department.
As per the officials of Mineral Department, online portal has been proven user-friendly for the stakeholders and enabled ‘ease of doing business’ in the mining sector of Chhattisgarh. Considering success of the Khanij online portal, its advance version of Khanij Online 2.0 scheme is under process. The second phase of portal aims to establish a Central Command and Control Centre for monitoring and controlling along with regular features of geo fencing of mines, vehicle tracking system, mobile app, integration with RTO, railways and other benefits.
In the year 2018-19, the Mineral Online Project had bagged National Award for e-Governance by the Government of India to recognize and promote excellence in the initiative and implementation of re-engineering of government processes and systems through digital transformation.
Mineral Online Portal was launched on June 21, 2017. In this portal, online application are designed for various purposes including single click payment, system generated bar coded e-transit pass, end-to-end tracking for the ease of work of stakeholders associated with mining operations such as mine owners, processors, transporters and users, end use plant owners. Through the portal, all stakeholders involved in mining operations, processing, transportation, end-users work on a single platform.
Key players in mining industry of the country including NMDC, SECL and others engaged in mining operations, large private sector companies like BALCO, Hindalco, Ultratech, Shri Cement, Emami, Jaiswal Nico, Godavari Power, JK Lakshmi, Nuvoco, Ambuja, as well as small dolomite excavation lease holders, are also successfully doing mining business through the Khanij online portal.
