The Chief Minister’s residence in Civil Lines, Raipur, was steeped in festive fervour today as Hareli Tihar was celebrated with rural grandeur and cultural grace. The entire premises were adorned in a traditional village-themed décor. Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said, “Our government’s top priority is the prosperity and well-being of our farmers. Hareli is not just a festival—it is deeply rooted in Chhattisgarh’s traditions, nature, and agrarian lifestyle. It reconnects us with our roots. Today, all of Chhattisgarh is celebrating the joy of Hareli, and we are marking it at the CM residence with equal enthusiasm and cultural depth.”
CM Sai noted that while Hareli is celebrated in diverse ways from Bastar to Sarguja, its soul remains the same — faith and fervour. “Just as nature takes care of us, we too must care for nature,” he emphasized. “Hareli is more than just a celebration of farming — it is also a festival of greenery and reverence for nature. May Chhattisgarh Mahtari’s blessings continue to shower upon us, and may our farmers remain happy and prosperous.”
Highlighting key initiatives, the CM added, “Our government’s historic decision to procure paddy at ₹3100 per quintal with a cap of 21 quintals per acre is directly benefiting farmers. We have envisioned a developed Chhattisgarh by 2047 and created a Vision Document to achieve that. Our government is taking strong steps to root out corruption from the state.”
Speaking on the occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said, “Hareli is a celebration of Chhattisgarh’s culture, traditions, and agrarian life. I extend my heartfelt wishes to all citizens. This festival echoes our core values — our connection with nature, agriculture, and livestock. It is believed that on this day, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati descend to earth and visit the farms. That is why farmers worship their tools, ploughs, oxen, and fields.”
He further praised CM Sai’s leadership, saying, “Under his guidance, Chhattisgarh is making remarkable strides in agriculture. Over ₹90,000 crore has been disbursed to farmers through procurement and various schemes — the highest by any state in the country. It reflects that our CM is not just making announcements but delivering real value for the sweat of our farmers.”
The event was graced by Deputy CMs Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam, Revenue Minister TankRam Verma, Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Rajwade, along with MLAs, heads of corporations and commissions, public representatives, and distinguished guests.
