Raipur, June 17
President of Ekta Mahila Self Help Group of Patna Gram Panchayat of Korea district, Heena Begum told Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel that during the Corona epidemic, when there was a situation of lock down in the country, at a time when there was no employment opportunity, we got the job of manufacturing masks from the governmen. Our group manufactured 25 thousand masks and sold them for Rs 3 lakh. We earned a profit of one and a half lakh rupees. She told that during this time, our group also did the work of construction of tree guards. We manufactured tree guards worth about 12 lakh rupees and from this our group earned an income of 3 lakh rupees. 10 women members of our group earned 30 thousand rupees per member.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that earlier tree guards were made of steel by industrialists. Our government has decided that now tree guards will be made of bamboo through self-help groups. The people harvesting bamboo will also benefit and new employment opportunities will also be created. Your group is a living example of the success of this decision of ours. All of you have done a great job. Congratulations and best wishes to all of you. All of you should spread these experiences as much as possible at your level so that more women can become financially empowered by joining these works.
