
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the 17th state foundation day ‘Rajyotsav’ in Raipur today. Requisite preparations for the five-daylong celebrations has been completed. from tomorrow in all 27 districts, an official here said today.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the opening ceremony of 17th foundation day ‘Rajyotsav’ and President Ramnath Kovind is going to attend the conclusion ceremony on November 5. Several programmes will be held to mark the occasion.
Notably, the mineral-rich Chhattisgarh came into existence on November 1, 2000 after separation of the state of Madhya Pradesh.
The celebration in Raipur will be held at Rajyotsav Sthal in Naya Raipur-the upcoming new capital of the state where as the remaining 26 district headquarters will celebrate the statehood day for three days.
Chief Minister Raman Singh has greeted the mass on the eve of state formation day.
In a message, Singh said that Chhattisgarh had already completed 17 years of formation and scaled new heights of development in the entire country.
