
Certification course for Collectors and District Election Officers commences today

Preparations for Lok Sabha Elections-2019 are going on in the state in full swing. In the same sequence, two-day certification course for Collectors and District Election Officers of all the districts of the state was commenced today.
In his address to the inaugural session, Chief Electoral Officer Subrat Sahoo congratulated all the district election officers for successfully executing the works under Vidhan Sabha Elections.
District Election Officers of 11 Lok Sabha constituencies come together for two days in Raipur for Lok Sabha elections
Sahoo asked the officials to perform even better to ensure peaceful and systematic Lok Sabha Election-2019. He said that in these two days, returning officials of all 11 constituencies and district election officers will be provided necessary information for organizing peaceful, unbiased and independent elections in these two days. Meanwhile, District Election Officer and Returning Officer are being provided necessary information about their roles and responsibilities, voter-lists revision, model code of conduct and other important subjects.
First day of this training programme organized at the auditorium of new circuit house in Raipur has seven sessions. Second day of the programme comprises six sessions from 9am onwards on February 13. In these two days, experts and master trainers will provide training on different subjects. On the first day, District Election Officers and Returning Officers would be informed about their roles and responsibilities, re-examination of voter ids, withdrawal of nomination letters and allotment of election symbols, model code of conduct, election expenditure monitoring, voting and other subjects.
On the second day, sessions on use of EVM and VVPAT, facilities for voting team and disable voters, paid news, media and media monitoring committee, vote counting and declaration of results, use of information technology, and various apps will be held.
