Singhanpur emerging as ‘Hockey nursery’ of State, Raman sanctioned Rs 30 lakh mini-stadium

Development works worth Rs 97 lakh sanctioned

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today made a surprise landing at Left-Wing Extremist (LWE) affected Adivasi dominated village Singhanpur (development block Thokapal) district Bastar as a part of State-wide ‘Lok Suraj’ campaign. The residents gave him a warm welcome. Dr. Raman Singh was visibly happy as he came to know that apart from studies the students are keen on learning and doing well in Hockey.

The villagers informed the Chief Minister that the small village is making a mark in the field of Hockey in entire Bastar Division. Earlier, three players from the area had made a mark at the National Hockey tournaments. The Chief Minister called upon the players onto the stage and gifted them with Hockey sticks and wished them a bright future.

Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 30 lakh for the construction of a mini-stadium at the requests of the huge gathering. He sanctioned Rs 97 lakh for several developmental works in Villages Singhanpur,Thotar, Chapar, Bhanpuri and Kareli. The development works include a pipe line of solar pump for drinking water purposes at village Chandimeta gram panchayat Singhanpur, installation of solar pump for drinking water at Sadakpara in Singharpur, installation of solar pumps at village Thothar,. village Kotli, laying of roads at Bazar Road at Singharpur and construction of a community hall.

Dr. Raman Singh informed the people that the State Government had been conducting ‘Lok Suraj’ Mission to resolve the grievances of the citizens in a phased and time-bound manner. Major and minor problems of the people are being solved instantly. Chief Minister revealed that names of 109 poor citizens had not been incorporated in the Public Distribution System (PDS) ration cards list earlier but in the ‘Samaadhan Shivir’ the error had been rectified. The beneficiaries will get rations from April.

Chief Minister added that all the deprived sections of the society will be provided with free domestic gas connections under the Prime Minister ‘Ujjwala’ project. He called upon the electricity company officer on to the stage and queried about the pace of work of providing connections under the Prime Minister ‘Sowbhagya’ yojana. He revealed that all the hamlets in the vicinity will be provided with electricity by June 2018. Dr. Raman Singh appreciated the hard work put in by Health Department Mithanin Mrs. Rajkumari Sethia by calling her on to the stage. She had been working as health worker for the past 15 years. The gathering informed the Chief Minister that Mrs. Sethia treats the patients regularly. MLA Mr. Deepak Baij, Chief Secretary Mr. Ajay Singh and Chief Minister’s Secretary Mr. Subodh Kumar Singh were also present.
