Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel presided over a Cabinet meeting at Mantralaya ( Mahanadi Bhawan) in which several important decisions were taken.
The meeting decided to withdraw all the cases filed against the Chit Fund companies’ agents. The money of the depositors will be returned back as early as possible. Around 286 agents had been arrested, 263 challans had been filed against the agents and 424 cases had been instituted against the chit fund companies.
According to an estimates an amount of Rs Eleven hundred and five crore had been deposited in Chit Fund companies by about 2 lakh 70 thousand depositors. There was discussion over appointing Special Courts or Special officers to look into the matter expeditiously.
The target for purchasing the paddy on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the year 2018-2019 had been fixed at 75 lakh Metric ton . Around 80.36 lakh Metric ton paddy had been purchased.
There was a detailed discussion on the changing the Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation Act with regard to the land taken back from the Tata Steel at Lohandiguda District Bastar.
There will be no merger of District Co-Operative Banks with the Apex Bank. Orders had been given in this regard to the Co-Operative Department. The Co-Operative sector will be expanded and strengthened.
