Security personnel arrest naxal along with firearm, tiffin bomb

A joint team of District Force (DF) and Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) has arrested a naxal along with firearm and tiffin bomb in insurgency-hit Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.
The arrested naxal has been identified as Sonsai Salam (30), member of Toyenar Jantana Sarkar-a wing of Communist Party of India (Maoists), said Narayanpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Santosh Singh.
“The 30-year-old rebel was carrying a muzzle-loading-gun, tiffin bomb (weighing around 10 kg), four detonators, wires and other articles. He has been produced in a local court,” added SP Santosh Singh.
Singh further informed that on November 5, a joint team of security personnel launched an anti-naxal exercise coverning several villages including Chotefarashgaon, Bailapad, Rajbeda and Toyenar. During the course of searching in village Toyenar, security personnel received tip-off about presence of Salam following which he was nabbed. During the course of investigation it came to light that the arrested naxal was associated with the banned organziation from last five year. He has been given that task of arranging food, gathering people for meeting, acting as a courier and passing information about police personnel to ultras.
