Rs 11.67 crore distributed as incentive to 26 children of labourer

Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Worker Welfare Board has distributed nearly Rs 11 crore 67 lakh to children of labourers in year 2016-17. The board has distributed these incentives from Rs 2000 to Rs 12500 to the meritorious students coming from labourer-family, scoring 75% marks in 10th board exams. Under the scheme, students securing top ten ranks in merit list of 10th and 12th board exams are provided incentive of Rs one lakh by the board. Tution free, hostel fee and food expenses are borne by the board, if children of registered labourers take admission in government ITI, engineering, medical, law, dental, nursing, polytechnic and agriculture, college and ITI. Besides, they are also provided a lump sum amount of Rs 2000 once in a year for stationary expenses. For students taking admission in private institutes, the board compensates expenses equal to that of a government institute.
