Labour Department officials inspected factories in the state
Review of salary payment for labourers including food-water, lodging, mask, sanitizer

On the initiative and direction of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, several measures have been taken by the State Department of Labour to assist the labourers in distressed and needy conditions in unfortunate situations arising out of the corona virus pandemic.
By taking immediate action on the 413 problems registered in the 24-hour helpline number 0771-2443809 and 91098-49992 at the state level, assistance of Rs 68 lakh has been provided to the needy labours till now. Along with this, labours of various districts have been provided an advance salary of Rs 15 lakh in their accounts through their managers. 214 kg of rice and 10 kg of pulses have also been delivered by the Labour Department to 2 thousand 957 needy workers. This initiative has also ensured about Rs 57 lakh for ration and other necessary arrangements for labours through various factory managers and contractors located in the state.
On the information received through the helpline of the Labour Department, the problems of workers are being registered and solutions are being sought out as soon as possible. Workers in Raigarh have been provided 14 lakh 39 thousand 550 Rs in advance equalivent to 15 days' salary and Rs 60 thousand in Korba district by advance salary planner.
Consultation and instructions are being provided by the inspection team of labour department to inspect the factories and proper care regarding health facilities. Regular inspection is being done by the officers of Labour Department regarding the status of the labours working in factories and buildings under construction in different districts of the state. Adequate arrangements are also being made for labourers’ food etc. after inspection in various districts.
Factories located at Ravanbhatha, Siltra, Urla, Borjhara, Jarvai were inspected by the officials of Labour Department. The officials were asked by the factory management to provide adequate amount of water to the workers, to maintain adequate distance between the people using masks and to follow the instructions issued in this regard. At Ravan-Hirami in Balodabazar district, the factory management was instructed to pay the salary of the month of March to all contract and regular labours, where the factory management has assured to pay the salary soon. Food is being arranged at the workplace for the workers working in Liveliwali College in Gariaband district. The factory is closed in the district Dhamtari. The factory management of Belsonda, Birkoni in Mahasamund district was directed to ensure the living and eating arrangements of workers from outside the state residing under the factory premises. Factories in Raigarh district including Champa, Mahuda, Amjhar in Bilaspur, Mungeli, Korba and Janjgir-Champa districts were inspected by officials of the Labour Department. All labours and employees working during inspection were made aware to wear masks, use sanitizer, keep cleanliness. Also, the condition of distribution of food packets etc. to the poor people in the nearby villages going inside the factory was also inspected and reviewed. The 15 days’ wages of the workers have already been deposited in their accounts. Instructions were also given to test workers and employees coming inside the factory by thermal machines. Directives have been directed to provide adequate ration etc. for labourers in Nagarnar of Bastar (Jagdalpur) district. The factory is closed in Dantewada district.
Similarly, the factories of Turrapani, Lakhanpur and Chikliheedih in Sarguja district and Udaipur, Rasamada, Jamul, Rasmara of Durg district, Kusmi, Kareli, Pirda in Bemetra district and Pandaria in Kawardha district, Kawardha are also being regularly inspected. During the inspection, instructions have been given to provide masks and sanitizers along with the arrangement of petrol and food for the labours. The officials have also instructed to maintain social distance as per the rules issued.
