production of fish seeds: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has reviewed the action plan for providing skill development training to the youth in rural areas, with an objective to develop gauthans as livelihood centers.
While reviewing the action plan in a meeting held at his residence office, Baghel said that along with fishery, production of high quality fish seeds should also be promoted in the state.
He also talked about encouraging bamboo handicraft, plantation of medicinal herbs and naturopathy in the state. Chief Minister said that there is an immense potential of employment in these sectors. Promoting the aforementioned activities will generate more employment for people and improve their income.
In the meeting, School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Rajesh Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subrat Sahoo, Principal Secretary School Education Dr Alok Shukla, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Siddhartha Komal Singh Pardeshi, Director Public Instructions Mr. Jitendra Shukla, Deputy Secretary Ms Saumya Chaurasiya and other senior officials were also present.
In meeting, Principal Secretary Dr Alok Shukla informed in detail about the action plan prepared for skill development activities under Skill Development and Livelihood Scheme. He said that sufficient funds are available for skill development training and using these funds, nearly 15 thousand to 20 thousand youngsters will be provided training for various kinds of self-employment.
He said that keeping in view of gauthans built in villages under Suraaji Gaon Yojana, training in veterinary, organic fertilizer production, manufacturing of various goods from cowdung, nursery work, gardening, fishery, poultry, bamboo craft, medicinal herb farming etc has been proposed. More courses will be added to the training curriculum as per the local needs and circumstances.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that fishermen in the state purchase better quality of fish seeds from other states. Hence, the fishermen should be provided training in high quality fish seed production in state. In those districts of the state, where bamboo is found in abundance, people should be provided training in bamboo craft with the help of skilled instructors. Chief Minister also gave instructions to encourage farming of medicinal herbs in forest regions of the state and also to establish Naturopathy Training and Treatment Centre.
