Health facilities to be made available in 43 Municipalities and 111 Nagar Panchayats of the state through Mobile Medical Units and Dai-Didi Clinics

Considering the success of ‘Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme’ in the municipal areas of the state, State Government has decided to expand the implementation of this scheme in the areas under municipal councils and nagar panchayats as well. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will launch the expanded version of this scheme on March 31, 2022.
This expanded version of Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme will be implemented in 43 municipal councils and 111 Nagar Panchayats of the state, providing people here with the easy access to healthcare facilities near their homes. Urban Administration Department has completed all the necessary preparations for implementation of the expanded version of the scheme. Municipalities and nagar pachayats will divided into clusters and health facilities will be provided through 60 mobile medical units.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme was launched on 01 November 2020 on the occasion of State Foundation Day to provide health services to people near their homes in urban areas of the state. In the first phase, health facilities are being provided through 60 mobile medical unit ambulances in all 14 municipal corporations.
Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahariya informed that under this updated version of the scheme, facilities such as consultation, treatment, medicines and pathology tests will be provided free of cost to the common people through Mobile Medical Units. So far, a total of 23884 medical camps have been organized for people living in about 900 slum areas of 14 municipal corporations through Mobile Medical Unit, wherein 1703306 patients have been treated.1406821 patients have been provided medicines and lab test of 326619 patients has been done.
Under Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme, Dai-Didi clinics have been started to provide better health services to women at the doorstep. The Dai-Didi Clinic was launched on 19 November 2020, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Mr. Indira Gandhi. In Dai-Didi clinics, women are being provided treatment facilities by female doctors and female paramedical staff. This scheme is very popular among women and adolescent girls. A total of 1182 camps have been organized under Dai Didi Clinic scheme so far, under which 89796 female patients have been treated. Medicines have been distributed to 86129 women. Lab test of 16114 patients has been done.
