
patients in home isolation: Health Department issues circular to all the CMHOs, private doctors and hospitals

Health Department has directed the private hospitals, nursing homes and doctors monitoring patients in home isolation to provide information about the patients and about the end of their home isolation period to Chief Medical and Health Officers of respective districts.
The department has issued circular in the context to CMHOs, Doctors and Directors of Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes.
In the circular issued by the Department of Health, it has been said that COVID-19 patients have been allowed the isolation by the state government as per the prescribed criteria.
In addition to government facilities, COVID patients are being provided treatment facility in the isolation as per the prescribed guidelines, in coordination with private hospitals, nursing homes and private doctors. It has been noticed that some private hospitals and doctors are not compiling and providing information about the patients like the daily records of their temperature, oxygen level, symptoms and end of their home isolation period.
The Health Department has directed the private hospitals, nursing homes and doctors monitoring the patients in home isolation to list all the persons availing this facility through them. They have been directed to inform CMHO and IDSP of respective districts about the end of home isolation period for the patients.
Also, daily updates about the person in the home isolation should be compiled and shared in the prescribed format. According to the criteria set by the government in the circular for home isolation, only COVID-19 infected people should be provided this facility.
