Department of Women & Child Development, Government of Chhattisgarh, in partnership with UNICEF Chhattisgarh and State Planning Commission of Chhattisgarh, is organizing a two-day consultation on ‘Innovating for Children’ on September 21 and 22, to explore and showcase innovative ideas, solutions for the well being of children and initiate dialogue towards enhancing access to children’s entitlements particularly in health, nutrition, education, child protection, water and sanitation, Skills and Early Childhood Development. Objective of this consultation is to explore and identify innovative solutions for vulnerable children excluded by socio-political and economic factors in the areas of early child development, education, health, nutrition, water and sanitation, child protection and skills and also to provide a platform to showcase, share, adopt and advocate proven models for well-being of children with a focus on ‘hard to reach’ areas ensuring equity and inclusion, informed the Department officials.
Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Ramsheela Sahu will be the Chief Guest of the programme. Opening remarks will be delivered by Chief Secretary Mr. Vivek Dhand and Ms.Henriette Ahrens, Deputy Representative, UNICEF India, and keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Ajay Tirkey, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. Ms.Stuti Kacker, Chairperson, NCPCR, New Delhi will be the guest of honour. Senior officials of concerned departments of State Government and Central Government along with UNICEF representatives will take part in the two-day national consultation.
