Minister Chandrakar reviews paddy purchase, other schemes

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mr. Ajay Chandrakar today reviewed the various State Government schemes with senior district officers at Janjgir-Champa. Mr. Chandrakar said that paddy is being purchased on Minimum Support Price (MSP) in the entire State. The officials should assist the farmers in disposing off the paddy if they faced any obstacles. The Minister instructed the officials that quality of the various developmental works should be maintained and they should be completed on time.

The District In-Charge Minister Mr. Chandrakar said that vigilance should be maintained on the paddy purchased from the farmers. There should be adequate weighing machines at the procurement market places. He called upon the nodal officers of the bank to issue RuPe cards to farmers in three months period. Mr. Chandrakar also reviewed the Public Distribution system (PDS) in the district. Ration cards should be allocated to all the beneficiaries. He called upon the senior officials to supply free electricity to the consumers under the Sowbhagya Project. Women should be sanctioned free domestic gas connections under the Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme.

The Minister said that schools and anganwadis should be provided with electricity, drinking water and toilets. He instructed the officers to set a target of making the district ‘Open Defecation-Free’ by 11 February.
