Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University: Durg district to get the gift of development and construction works worth nearly Rs 253 crore

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will give the gift of various infrastructure development works to Durg district on October 2. Chief Minister will inaugurate-lay foundation of 39 works worth nearly Rs 253 crore 61 lakh in Paatan-Saankra, Durg and Bhilai via video conferencing from his residence office. This mainly includes Bhumipujan Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University, Saankra-Paatan. This Universirty to be built at the cost of nearly Rs 55 crore will not only promote horticulture development in the state and open the doors to the opportunities of employment and self-employment. This horticulture university will give admission to nearly 600 graduate, 100 post graduates, and 50 PhD students. Through this university, state will get skilled human resources in the sector of horticulture and forestry.

Chief Minister will do bhumipujan of Mahatma Gandhi University in Sankra-Paatan and inaugurate 44 houses constructed at the cost of 5 crore 22 lakh for government officials-employees in the block headquarters. Besides, bhumipujan of high-level bridge worth Rs 8.35 crore on Kharun River en route Ufra-Raveli Road and high-level bridge worth Rs 8.17 crore on Khamhariya Nala on Abhanpur-Tarrighat Paatan Road, and the new building for the branch of cooperatives bank worth Rs 37 lakh, which will provide banking facilities to more than 5 thousand farmers, will be done. Likewise, Chief Minister will also inaugurate the Solar Charkha Training Center.
Inauguration of works worth Rs 138 crore 35 lakh in Durg
Chief Minister will inaugurate works worth Rs 138 crore 35 lakh and lay foundation of development and construction works worth Rs 13 crore 49 lakh for beautification of Durg. Deepening of the Thagda dam will not only improve water-level in the city but will also provide recreational facilties with well-developed water body for people of Bhilai and Risali along with Durg. Consolidation and beautification of 8 km route from Nehru Chowk to Mini Mata Chowk will be done to reduce traffic pressure and beautify, at the cost Rs 68 crore 16 lakh. Similarly, Bhoomipujan for construction of four and a half km four-lane from Pulgaon Naka to Anjora will also be done at the cost of 56 crore 39 lakhs.
Inauguration-Foundation laying of 28 works worth Rs 37 crore in Bhilai: Statue of Mahatma Gandhi to be unveiled
On the occasion, Chief Minister will unveild the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and will inaugurate-lay foundation of 28 works worth Rs 37 crore. Besides, he will also do bhumipujan of new college building worth Rs 4.65 crore in Khursipar Bhilai.
