New bridge will come up on Hasdeo river

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today said that in Janjgir-Champa one can witness fine confluence of saints and farmers’ culture and immense possibilities of industrial development. If someone is keen on observing development one should visit Janjgir-Champa where 82 % irrigation facilities had been provided. The district tops in agricultural production. Dr. Raman Singh was addressing a massive gathering at development block headquarter Bahmnideeh district Janjgir-Champa.
Chief Minister dedicated, laid foundation stones and performed ‘bhoomipujan’ of 27 developmental works worth Rs 302 crore. He also distributed paddy bonus worth Rs 200 crore to about 32 thousand farmers Online. He sanctioned a bridge over Hasdeo river on Bahmnideeh-Daheeda route and said that provision will be made in the next Budget. The distance between Bahmnideeh – Nawagarh will be reduced considerably. He also announced the construction of stadium at the place where current meeting was being held.
Dr. Raman Singh expressed his gratitude over the huge gathering of farmers, villagers and workers in spite of scorching heat and sultry weather conditions. Referring to the Vikas Yatra launched on 12th of this month he said that the yatra had turned into ‘Vishwas Yatra’ of the large number of common citizens. Chief Minister while referring to King Jajwalya Dev said that Janjgir Champa located on the banks of Hasdeo river had a hoary past with rich cultural heritage. Legends like freedom fighter Barrister Chedilal, literary giant Pandit Mukutghar Pande, Pandit Lochan Prasad Pande had made this land pious.
Chief Minister threw light on the various policies and social-welfare programmes of the Central and State Governments. The main aim of vikaas is to alleviate the sufferings of the deprived sections of the society and make lives of poor easier by providing them amenities. Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country to allocate subsidized rice and free Iodized salt to the poor and needy. Health Insurance Scheme provides coverage up to Rs 50 thousand to poor and ill patients. Smart Cards had been allocated to almost 95 per cent of the population.
Dr. Raman Singh said that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s ‘Ayushman Bharat’ project will help health coverage up to Rs Five lakh. Patients suffering from heart, kidney and cancer diseases will benefit from the scheme. Chief Minister said that entire State is being connected with road, rail air and electricity network. Steps are being taken to up link the ten thousand gram panchayats with high-quality Internet facilities. Optical fibre network is being laid up to distance of six thousand kilometer under the Bharat Net Project. ‘Smart Phones’ will be distributed to 50 lakh families under the Information Revolution Project.
Dr. Raman Singh gave details of the new concessions announced for the farmers. He said that ‘Flat Rate’ will be charged over and above the consumption of 7, 500 units of electricity consumed by the farmers. The farmers can use more than one irrigation pump and still will be charged ‘Flat Rate’. Chief Minister said that subsidy of Rs One lakh had been reintroduced on irrigation pump connections. Panchayat Raj Minister Mr. Ajay Chandrakar, MP Mrs. Kamaladevi Patle, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Ambesh Jangde, MLA Dr. Khilawan Sahu, Chhattisgarh Housing Board Chairman Mr. Bhupendra Swanni and senior officers of several departments were also present.
