As many as eight wagons and a locomotive of goods train derailed and fell from a bridge after Maoists uprooted railway tracks on Kirandul-Visakhapatnam railway route in insurgency-hit Dantewada district of on Sunday, police said.
Aiming to disturb train movement on the route, the cadres of banned organization uprooted tracks between Bhansi and Kamaloor leading to derailment of iron ore laden goods train, said police, elaborating that eight wagons and a locomotive derailed and fell off the bridge in the accident.
No casualty was reported in the accident, informed police.
In a wake of the incident, security forces had intensified anti-naxal exercises in the region.
