Women of the group earn 16 lakh 71 thousand rupees from boating in Kenapara tourist spot – invite Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to pay a visit again

In Chhattisgarh, the initiative of economic empowerment of women through tourism is paying off. New employment opportunities have been created in Kenapara tourist destination of Surajpur district with boating facility and floating restaurant . Here, women have been engaged in boating and other livelihood related activities.
Interacting with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel , during program of inauguration of development works in Surajpur district, Ms. Usha Rajak of Shivshakti Mahila Gram Sangathan, said that the women of the group are involved in activities related to boating in Kenapara tourist spot. There are 286 women working in their organization. So far, they have earned an income of Rs 16 lakh 71 thousand 190 from boating. Each woman in the group gets an income of 7 thousand per month. Usha told Chief Minister Mr. Baghel that she also drives boats and during his previous stay there, he had also boated with her. Along with this, Ms. Usha requested Chief Minister Mr. Baghel to come again for the tour. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel asked the Surajpur Collector to make huts for accommodation along with the arrangement of boating in the tourist destination. It was informed during the program that the roadmap for developing Kenapara has been prepared and accordingly Kenapara tourist destination will be developed.
