Payment of Rs 3.07 crore transferred to the accounts of gauthan samitis, self-help groups and dung vendors
Godhan Super Compost Mobile App inaugurated

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel transferred an amount of Rs. 3 crore 7 lakh 18 thousand to the accounts of Gauthan committees, self-help groups and dung vendors under Godhan Nyay Yojana in a virtual program organized at his residence office on June 10.
The amount transferred includes a dividend of Rs. 2 crore 45 lakh to Gauthan committees and self-help groups. Under Godhan Nyay Yojna, so far, Rs 95 crore 94 lakh has been paid in lieu of cow dung purchased in Gauthans, which has benefited one lakh 68 thousand 531 livestock farmers and villagers. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel congratulated all the people directly and indirectly involved in the implementation of this scheme.
On this occasion, Chief Minister also launched Godhan Super Compost mobile app. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Godhan Nyay is a scheme with multi-level benefits. This scheme is proving beneficial for all the sections of the society.
Godhan Nyay Yojna is promoting protection of livestock, encouraging animal husbandry, protection of crops and environment, extra income for villagers and livestock farmers from the sale of dung, employment and income to women self-help groups through manufacturing of vermicompost, super compost and other products and also organic farming.
Chief Minister said that the use of vermicompost and super compost manure is improving the quality and fertility of food grains and reducing the cost of cultivation, the benefits of which have started accruing to the farmers. Chief Minister said that vermi compost produced under the scheme is proving to be beneficial for the agriculture sector. Chief Minister directed to constitute and activate committees for the operation of all the Gauthans built in the state, so that its benefits could be availed.
On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said that Godhan Nyay Yojana is being discussed all over the country. The Parliament Committee has recommended Central Government to implement this scheme nationwide. He said that apart from procurement of cow dung worth Rs 96 crore from cattle rearers and farmers, nearly 80 thousand women belonging to self-help groups have got employment under the scheme.
Minister Choubey said that at present only 5590 Gauthans are active, but construction of 9950 Gauthans has been approved. As all the Gauthans become active, the profit will increase further. At the beginning of the program, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. M. Geeta informed about the achievements of the scheme so far through power point presentation. She said that the women self-help groups associated with Gauthans have received an income of Rs 27.78 crore from income-oriented activities. Out of 3 lakh 6 thousand 770 quintals of vermi compost produced in Gauthans, one lakh 44 thousand 320 quintal has been sold. Out of 5590 Gauthans in the state, 913 have become self-supporting.
The program was attended by Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar, Women and Child Development Minister Anila Bhendia, two advisors to the Chief Minister- Ruchir Garg and Pradeep Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahoo, Special Secretary, Agriculture Department and Godhan Nyay Yojana Nodal officer of the scheme Dr. S. Bharathidasan, Director of Horticulture and Veterinary Matheswaran V. and other senior officers were also present.
