Five districts, 83 blocks, 7984 Gram Panchayats and more than 14 thousand villages declared ODF

Under Clean India Mission, five districts, 83 blocks, 7984 gram panchayats and 14 thousand 064 villages of Chhattisgarh have been declared as Open Defecation Free. This information was provided by In-charge Chief Secretary Mr. Ajay Singh to Cabinet Secretary of Government of India Mr. Pradeep Kumar Sinha, in the review meeting of Chief Secretaries of various states including Chhattisgarh organized through video conferencing. Cabinet Secretary Mr. Sinha presided over the meeting of Chief Secretaries of States and District Collectors today through video conference and reviewed the progress of ODF under Clean India Mission. In-charge Chief Secretary Mr. Ajay Singh told that till date, total 26 lakh 10 thousand 225 toilets have been constructed. Five districts of the state namely Dhamtari, Mungeli, Rajnandgaon, Sarguja and Durg have been declared as Open Defecation Free. Panchayat and Rural Development Department Secretary Mr. PC Mishra were also present in the meeting.
