Raipur, June 17
In the virtual inaugural and foundation laying programme of Korea district today, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was interacting with the beneficiaries of various schemes when he spoke to the Director of Farmer Producer Organization Korea Fayyaz Alam in the district.
Alam told Chief Minister Baghel that 573 farmers are associated with his Food Production Organization (FPO), and 72 percent of these farmers are from tribal community.
Expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister, he said that with state government’s support, his organization got units like distillation, pulse mill, rice mill, oil mill, and milk processing. An now his FPO is taking its products to the masses through platforms like Khadi India, Tribes India, Khadi Village Industries, Handicrafts Board and Flipkart. Moreover, turmeric, lemongrass, sweet potato being produced in the collective garden are being sold through Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
Alam told Chief Minister that now his organization aims to achieve a turnover of Rs. 1.5 crore to Rs. 2 crore so that every farmer associated with the organization becomes financially empowered. Alam thanked Chief Minister Baghel for his farmer welfare schemes.
