Chhattisgarh Tourism Board in association with Tourism Ministry of Government of India is developing the tribal populated regions and places of religious significance in state. This includes tribal tourism circuit and Ramayana circuit, wherein infrastructure as well as food, accommodation and marketing facility is being developed for tourists.
Tourism Board Officials informed that under Swadesh Darshan Yojana of Central Government, places including Jashpur, Kunkuri, Mainpat, Ambikapur, Maheshpur, Ratanpur, Kurdar, Saroda Dadar, Gangrel, Kondagaon, Nathiya-Navagaon, Jagdalpur, Chitrakote and Teerathgarh have been marked for developing tribal tourism circuit in state. On the initiative of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, Tourism Ministry of Government of India has sanctioned Rs 100 crore for development of these tourism places. In the first phase, Rs 20 crore have been sanctioned to State Tourism Board, which will be utilized to start the development work of tribal tourism circuit. Likewise, Tourism Ministry Government of India has also given consent in principle for developing Shivrinarayan, Rajim and Sihava (Sapt Rishi Ashram) as Dandkaranya circuit.
