Collector, SSP meets family members of engineer kidnapped in Nigeria

In compliance to the directives of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Raipur Collector Dr S Bharatidasan and Senior Superintendent of Police Sheikh Arif Husen on Friday visited Bhanpuri based house of Chief Mechanical Engineer Vijay Tiwari, who was kidnapped in Nigeria, and met his brother Pawan Tiwari.

They also met his wife Anju Tiwari’s brother SP Upadhyay in Deendayal Upadhyay Colony. It is noteworthy that 19 people have been kidnapped from the ship of Anglo-Eastern Ship Management Company near Bonny Off-Shore Terminal of Nigeria. Collector and SP have empathized with the families of the victims and has assured that government and administration will stand by them in this difficult time. State Government will provide every possible support.

Collector informed that Honourable Chief Minister has given instructions to Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary (Home) of the state to take necessary instructions in the context. State Government officials are in constant communication with Indian Embassy and Union Ministries concerned. Family members of Mr. & Mrs. Tiwari informed that they recieved the information about the incident from the Andheri, Mumbai based company.
