On the occasion, he gave cheques of Rs 05 thousand each to the five beneficiaries for safe motherhood at the state-level women’s conference held at BTI Ground in Raipur today.
Under this scheme, there is a provision to give financial assistance of Rs 5000 to women beneficiaries on the birth of second daughter. The scheme aims to help in the upbringing and education of the girl child.
Extending his greetings to all the sisters, daughters, and mothers of the state on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that women always held a high position in the culture of Chhattisgarh. Despite their better position of women in the society here, they were lagging behind men in terms of economic participation. There is no dearth of ability, capability, and the zeal to move forward among the women of Chhattisgarh.
Speaking about the works done by the state government towards women empowerment, Mr. Baghel said that works we have done with full determination to provide rights and justice to women are in front of everyone. This women’s power can be seen in the ‘Mahila Madai’. Today women are preparing various materials including vermicompost from cow dung in Gauthans. This will boost the income of women besides creating new employment opportunities for them. Gauthan is being developed into Rural Industrial Park in Chhattisgarh where employment is being provided to women. On the occasion of ‘Teeja-Pora’, the State Government has also waived the loan of Rs13 crore of Self-Help Groups and doubled their loan limit from ‘Mahila Kosh’.

Similarly, he also honored officers doing excellent work in the direction of women protection under ‘Sakhi One Stop Center’ and ‘Nava Bihan Yojana’. He also released ‘Kanya Vivah Yojana’ Coffee Table Book, Sakhi One Stop Center Telephone Directory, and brochures of schemes related to women empowerment.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also visited the stalls of the exhibition of products prepared by women Self-Help Groups from all over the state in the four-day-long state-level ‘Mahila Madai’ organized at BTI Ground on the occasion of International Women’s Day., Chief Minister bought the artifact made of bell metal from the stalls of women SHG of Bastar and boosted the morale of the women by playing ‘Turhi’ (trumpet).
Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhediya said in her address that Kaushalya Matritva Yojana started by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel would prove helpful in nurturing daughters along with taking care of their education. She said that a large number of women in Chhattisgarh are paving their way to self-reliance through women’s groups. Because of them, the name Chhattisgarh is being recognized in the country and abroad today. These groups have been given the opportunity of selling their goods in the ‘Mahila Madai’. This will serve as a great platform for the exchange of experiences and provide a better market for their products.
