
50 lakh citizens will be associated with Yoga: Raman Singh

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today instructed the Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors to distribute nine crore sapplings during the massive afforestation drive in the months of July-August in the entire State. He was addressing Divisional Commissioners and Districts Collectors meet via video- conferencing from his official residence here. Dr. Raman Singh said that the aim is to see that 50 lakh citizens participate in Yoga on International Yoga Day on 21 June.
Dr. Raman Singh instructed the district officials to make arrangements for making available seeds, fertilizers to farmers, curbing the illegal sale of sub-standard fertilizers and preventing seasonal diseases during monsoons. Chief Minister called upon the District Collectors to identify vacant State Government land for developing ‘Oxyzones’ in the entire State. He said saplings should be supplied free of cost at Janpad panchayat offices, tehsil offices, Forest Departments from 1 July to 15 August.
Dr. Raman Singh said that ‘Oxyzone’ is being developed on a 19-acre site behind the Raipur Collectorate. Similar Oxyzones should be developed at tehsil, village and district levels. He appreciated the efforts of District Collectors and top police officials to curbing bootlegging in all parts of the State as a part of new Excise Policy. It had been a highly successful mission. He stressed upon the need for keeping vigil on the State’s borders to control drugs and illicit alcohol.

Raut, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Aman Kumar Singh, Social Welfare Department Secretary Mr. Sonmani Bora, Industry Department Secretary Mr. Subodh Singh, Public Relations Department Secretary Mr. Santosh Misra and senior officers of several departments were also present.
