Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel unviels works worth Rs 324.42 crore for Sarguja and Balrampur-Ramanujganj, in the virtual programme held on June 15

Taking another step towards improving air-connectivity in North-Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister today performed bhumipujan for renovation work of Maa Mahamaya Airport in Ambikapur. After inaugurating the renovation work worth Rs 44 crore, Chief Minister said in his address that the commencement of air services in Sarguja will expedite the development of Ambikapur, Balrampur, Surajpur, Koriya, Jashpur and also accelerate the progress of entire Chhattisgarh.
In a virtual program held at CM House on June 15, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel unvieled 302 works worth Rs 324 crore 42 lakh for Sarguja and Balrampur-Ramanujganj districts. He inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan of 107 different development works worth Rs 247 crore 91 lakh for Sarguja district and 195 development works worth Rs 76 crore 51 lakh 88 thousand for Ramanujganj-Balrampur district.
On this occasion, Urban Administration and Development Minister and Minister in charge of Sarguja district Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, Higher Education Minister and Minister in-charge of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, Umesh Patel, Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Health Minister T.S. Singhdeo, Food Minister Amarjit Bhagat, School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Subrat Sahoo were present at Chief Minister’s residence. Parliamentary Secretary Chintamani Maharaj, MLA Brihaspat Singh, Dr. Pritam Ram joined program via video conference.
While addressing the program, Chief Minister said that the commencement of air services will expedite the development and promote tourism sector of the entire Chhattisgarh, including Sarguja. The journey from Ambikapur to Raipur and Banaras will also become easy.
Baghel said that the people of Bilaspur were also demanding commencement of air service in the district for many years. Ever since we came into power, our government worked on a war footing to fulfill his dream. And today, this dream has come true. Air-service from Bilaspur Airport to Prayagraj, Delhi and Jabalpur has been started. Similarly, there are regular flights from Maa Danteshwari Airport in Jagdalpur to Hyderabad and Raipur. Further expansion of air facilities is also in progress.
Chief Minister said that In the first phase of Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit Development Scheme was started by State Government, various facilities are being developed in the 9 tourist centers from Koriya to Sukma. These include Ramgarh of Sarguja and Sitamarhi-Harchuka of Koriya. Mainpat of Sarguja is already famous for its beauty and culture and now with the development of new facilities, fame and glory of Mainpat will further enhance. We not only want to show our natural beauty and culture to the tourists, but also desire to flaunt our villages, farms and prosperity. A day will come when people from various parts of the country and abroad will visit Chhattisgarh to see our Gauthan.
Narva-Garva-Ghurua-Bari programme of Suraaji Gaon Yojana has begun a major transformation of villages, which is being applauded across the country. Implementation of Godhan Nyay Yojana is being demanded across the country. Rajiv Gandhi Kisaan Nyay Yojana became a source of great support and relief for farmers during the COVID period. Rajiv Gandhi Kisaan Nyay Yojana has created a revolution in Chhattisgarh, considering which we have decided to further expand the scope of this scheme.
Baghel said that women of self-help groups have turned gauthans into small-small industries. They have taken up the works such as organic fertilizer production, vegetable farming, honey production and soap manufacturing. And now they have become financially independent and confident in their skills.
He said that the new phase of development that has started in the state after the second COVID wave should not be hindered at any cost. In some neighboring states, COVID cases are still increasing again. We all have to be very careful about this situation.
In-charge Minister of Sarguja district, Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, while addressing the program said that even in the time of COVID-19, development works are being done rapidly in Chhattisgarh. In the last one week, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has inaugurated and laid the foundation for development works worth more than Rs 4 thousand crores.
Today, Chhattisgarh model of development has become a popular topic of discussion across the country. Higher Education Minister and Minister in charge of Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Umesh Patel said that despite the challenges of COVID-19, infrastructure development continued and many schemes have been implemented successfully for the betterment of every section of society in Chhattisgarh.
He thanked Chief Minister Baghel for unveiling the development works on behalf of the citizens of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district. Health Minister TS Singhdeo said that bhumipujan of Ambikapur’s Darima airstrip and its upgradation work is a concrete step towards commencement of air service here.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister Amarjit Bhagat said that none of the challenging circumstances could affect the pace of development in Chhattisgarh. Rapid development is also being done in backward areas of the stat. School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam said that it is the endeavor of the State Government to provide quality education with good facilities to the children in Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools. Parliamentary Secretary Chintamani Maharaj, MLA duo Brihaspat Singh and Dr. Pritamram also addressed the program.
