Chief minister Dr. Raman Singh today inaugurated a five-day health camp organized on the premises Government Ayurvedic College here. Chief Minister dedicated ‘Eye-care ambulance’ worth Rs 38 lakh to be operated by the Mahaveer International Service Organization. Assembly Speaker Mr. Gowrishankar Agrawal, Minister Mr. Rajesh Munat, MLAs Mr. Devji Bhai Patel, Mr. Sreechand Sundrani, Mr. Rodrigues, Padmasree awardee Dr. A.T. Dhabke were present. The five-day health camp will be till January 16 from 09: 00 am. About 400 doctors are rendering their services at the huge camp. Sixty doctors have arrived from Mumbai, Ahmedabad and other big cities. Sonography, Echo, E.C.G., X-rays, blood sugar, blood groups will be performed. About 14, 000 patients have registered on the first day itself.
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh congratulated the organizing committee for holding the health camp on the auspicious occasion of Swami Vivekanand Jayanti today. Health Minister Mr. Ajay Chandrakar said that under the leadership of Dr. Raman Singh the budget of the Health Department had been hiked to Rs 4400 from a mere Rs 300 crore during the past 15 years. He revealed that DKS Super-Specialty hospital will be inaugurated on 24th March.
