Chief Electoral Officer presides the meeting of political parties

Chief Electoral Officer of Chhattisgarh Subrat Sahoo today presided over the meeting of officials and representatives of recognized political parties and non-recognized by registered political parties.

In the meeting, the rationalization of E-RONet and polling booths, special brief revision of voter ids with photos (last date January 1, 2018) as per the instructions of Election Commission of India, New Delhi, was discussed.

Regarding special brief revision of voter-ids, Chief Electoral Officer Sahoo informed that initial release of the voter-list will be done on 23 October 2017. For one month, from October 23 to November 22 people may lodge claim or objection. October 29 has been decided as the date for verification of names and voter ids with photos, in the gram sabhas, local bodies and residence welfare societies etc. Special campaign for inviting claims and objections woth BLA appointed by political parties will be conducted till November 5, 2017. Claims and objections will be resolved by December 12, 2017. Updation of database, photo merging, control table updation, finalization of supplementary list and printing will be done by December 30, 2017. Final release of voter lists will be done on January 10, 2018. In the meeting, representatives of various political parties gave their suggestions about special revision of voter ids with photos.

The meeting was attended by Mr. MK Nandi of Communist Party of India (Marxist), Mr. RDCP Rao of Communist Party of India, Dr Kiranmayee Nayak, Mr. Shiv Singh Thakur, Mr. Vikas Upadhyay of Indian National Congress, Mr. Deepak Mahaske and Mr. Naresh Gupta of Bharatiy Janata Party, Mr. Ramavtar of Bahujan Samaj Party, the representatives of recognized political parties. Besides, representatives of registered non-recognized political parties of Chhattisgarh such as Chhattisgarh Sanyukt Jaatiy Party, Chhattisgarh Vikas Party, Jai Chhattisgarh Party, Chhattisgarh Navnirma Sena, ‘AAP’ Sabki Apni Party, Jai Chhattisgarh Party, Loktantra Congress Party, Bhartiy Sadbhavna Samaj Party, Pichhda Samaj Party United, Azad Janata Party, Chhattsiagrh Swabhimaan Manch, Bharashtachar Mukti Morcha, Chhattisgarh Mukti Morcha, Bharatiya Janata Secular Party, Bharatiy Dalit Congress, Rashtriy Jansabha Party, Bharatiy Savarjan Hitey Samaj Party were also present. Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Ms Jaishree Jain, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Mr. KRR Singh were also present in the meeting.
