Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh on Monday flagged off the 5000-m marathon at Marine Drive (Telibandha) of capital city Raipur. Large number of children, youth, elderly ones, public representatives and citizens participated in this marathon with enthusiasm.

On the occasion, Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh is undergoing fast track development and it is because of the support and blessing of people Chhattisgarh has set the record of completing the prestigious journey of 5000 days. This marathon signifies that youth of Chhattisgarh is ready to explore the heights of success. Dr Singh extended hearty wishes and greeting of 70th anniversary of Independence Day of the country on August 15. On the occasion, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Gaurishankar Agrawal, Agriculture Minister Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal, MLA Mr. Shrichand Sundrani, Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation Chairman Mr. Chhagan Mundra and Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Youth Commission Mr. Kamalchand Bhanjdev were present as the special guests.

The marathon ended at Telibandha Marine Drive via Shastri Chowk, Jail Raod and Canal Road. Chief Minister said on the occasion that Chhattisgarh’s new transformation is for new generation, as the new generation will be leading every sector of Chhattisgarh in days to come, thereby contributing to make active contribution in the development of state. Dr Singh said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, new chapter of nation’s development has begun. Chhattisgarh is also making significant contribution in this development journey. Chief Minister said in his address to the youth that youngsters should work tirelessly towards their goal, in which ever sector they have interest in. On the occasion, Chief Minister talked about State Government’s SKY scheme, under which 45 lakh people will be provided smart phones in near future. Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Gaurishankar Agrawal said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, Chhattisgarh is marching ahead on the path of success in every sector. Agriculture Minister Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal said that this marathon signifies the message of persistence and consistent hard work, as a result of which Chhattisgarh is on the path of development under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh. MLA Mr. Shrichand Sundrani and Chhattisgarh Youth Commission Chairman Mr. Kamalchand Bhanjdev also addressed the programme and acknowledged the achievements of Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh. Joint Secretary and Director Public Relations Mr. Rajesh Sukumar Toppo welcomed the guests in the programme. On the occasion, Joint Secretary of Chief Minister Mr. Mukesh Bandal, Collector Raipur Mr. OP Choudhary, Executive Member of Indian Olympic Association Mr. Vikram Sisodia, Superintendent of Police Dr Sanjiv Shukla, CEO District Panchayat Raipur Mr. Nilesh Sheersagar, and Commissioner Raipur Municipal Corporation Mr. Rajat Bansal and many senior officials were also present.
