The Chhattisgarh High Court has sought response from the state government and the police on a PIL seeking a CBI probe into chit fund scams.
The Court issued notice yesterday to the chief secretary, home secretary and other officials of the State and sought their reply within eight weeks. A total of 165 investors and agents who were allegedly duped by various chit fund companies filed a PIL, demanding the probe by CBI into the chit-fund scams. PIL also allege that the chit fund companies flourished under the protection of the state government and duped investors crores of rupees.
