The Chhattisgarh Handicraft Development Board has organized a 10-day exhibition-cum-sale at ‘state emporium’, Rajiv Gandhi Handicraft Bhawan, Baba Kharak Singh Road in New Delhi.
Chhattisgarh Bhawan Resident Commissioner M Geetha on Friday inaugurated the exhibition which will culminate on April 03.
Visitors attending the sale will get a discount on handloom and handicraft in a bid to promote arts and handicrafts of Chhattisgarh. Craftsmen and weavers from Chhattisgarh will showcase their crafts and handlooms at the exhibition. Wood craft and bell metal from Bastar will also be displayed at the exhibition-cum-sale.
The emporium offers dress materials made of cotton, handloom fabrics, fabrics made from natural colours, while silk sarees are available in a variety of colours. A glimpse of tribal culture is visible in these sarees. In these, different varieties of sarees are available like Khapa Temple, Jala Buta etc.
