Daring law and order in the state capital, unidentified burglars broke into the branch of State Bank of India (SBI) bank located in outskirt of the state capital and made away with cash and other valuables to the tune of around Rs 9 lakh.
The crime took place in Mandhar-based branch of SBI falling in limits of Vidha Sabha police station on intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, informed police.
According to police, unidentified burglars stormed into SBI Mandhar branch and reportedly escaped with ornaments and cash (whose estimated value would be around Rs 9 lakh revealed initial investigation) by breaking around 9 lockers with gas-cutter. The robbers have also cut down the connection of CCTV.
After being informed about the robbery, police team along with crime branch personnel, forensic experts and dog squad rushed to the spot to undertake investigation at the crime scene, said police, elaborating that investigators have collected finger-prints and other evidences from the crime scene.
Initial investigation suggests that the crime may took place on intervening night of Saturday and Sunday which came to light today, explained police.
