ACB catches forest officer red-handed accepting bribe Rs 1 lakh

The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today caught an assistant director of Udanti-Sitanadi Tiger Reserve in Chhattisgarh’s Gariyaband district red-handed while he was accepting a bribe.
“The arrested officer has been identified as Assistant Director of Udanti-Sitanadi Tiger Reserve RP Dubey (54). He was caught red-handed when he was accepting bribe to the tune of around Rs 1 lakh for clearing bills related to some construction works,” said an ACB officer.
The officer further informed that Dubey has demanded bribe of Rs 3 lakh for clearing the bill of around Rs 1772000 pertaining to some construction works. During the course of investigation, it came to light that for clearing the bill, 54-year-old officer has demanded the bribe and managed to take Rs 50000 bribe. The accused has instructed the victim to bring first instalment of (rest of the) the bribe (Rs 1 lakh) at his Mainpur-based residence.
When the accused was accepting bribe of Rs 1 lakh, the sleuths of ACB caught him red-handed and recovered the money, said ACB officer.
Further investigation in the case is underway, added the officer.
