5 STF troopers injured in encounter

As many as five personnel of Special Task Force (STF) were injured in an exchange of fire between security forces and ultras in insurgency-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh today, police said elaborating that encounter was underway.
The encounter took place in restive forest falling in limits of Chintagufa police station.
According to police, a joint squad of STF, District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) undertaking anti-naxal exercise was targeted by insurgents when the forces reach Chintagufa. Five troopers of SFT were injured in the gunfight.
After being informed about the encounter, reinforcement was rushed to the area, police said adding that further details are awaited.
