In Chhattisgarh, security forces today gunned down a hardcore Maoist carrying 16 lakh rupees reward on his head. The encounter took place in Burgum forests of Bastar last evening, in which District Reserve Group DRG succeeded in eliminating Area Secretary of CPI (Maoist) Vilas.
Another encounter broke out earlier during morning hours between security forces & maoists in the Bijapur district.
According to police sources, a combined team of CRPF & DRG was on a search operation in Timarpur forests of Basaguda when the Maoists started firing of the team.
