Five naxals surrender before police in Kondagaon

In another success to surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state government, as many as five naxals, including a woman, turned them before police in insurgency-hit Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh.

The surrendered rebels were identified as Hirala Netam (29), Beersai Korram (24), Pilluram Kashyap (26), Sonsai Korram (26) and a female cadre Somari alias Sonbati Kashyap (26), informed police, elaborating that the surrendered cadres were active in the banned organization as janmilitia members.

Citing statements of surrendered naxals, police said that they were disappointed by the ideology of ultras and discrimination within the organisation.

As per the surrender and rehabilitation policy of Chhattisgarh government, necessary assistance will be provided to them, added police.
